Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £41,000pa, plus annual staff bonus scheme
Hours: 35 per week, Monday to Friday – two-shift rotation (6:00am–2:00pm / 2:00pm–10:00pm; Fri 6:00am–11:00am / 11:00am–4:00pm). No weekends.
Location: Leigh, Greater Manchester (on-site)

Our client is a well-established manufacturer in Leigh, and they are looking for a Shift Electrician to keep their plant and equipment running to regulatory and ISO standards. Monday to Friday, no weekends, and a genuinely strong benefits package.
The Role
- Carrying out repairs to electrical and electronic equipment in line with engineering standards and legislation (ISO, current wiring regs)
- Testing and inspecting electrical and electronic equipment to the testing timetable
- Supporting the Planned Preventative Maintenance system and driving a proactive, less reactive maintenance culture
- Carrying out in-house calibrations, and assisting with installation and maintenance on engineering projects
- Contributing to electrical and instrumentation drawings and documentation
- Assessing risk on all work, following the site Permit to Work system, and maintaining high housekeeping and HSE standards
What You’ll Need
- Time-served electrical apprenticeship or equivalent
- Electrical maintenance and installation experience, ideally in a manufacturing or heavy engineering environment
- Knowledge of AC drive control systems and the ability to read electrical drawings/schematics
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment working to deadlines
- Strong problem-solver, well organised, and a good communicator
Desirable: current wiring regulation certification and AutoCAD (not essential).
