Experienced Turner Looking for a Varied Day Shift Role?

We’re recruiting for an experienced Proturn / Manual Turner to join a well-established engineering business based in Chadderton.

This is a hands-on machining role working within a busy jobbing shop environment, manufacturing one-off and small batch components, carrying out repair work and producing parts from drawings, sketches and customer samples.

The company supports customers across a wide range of industries including manufacturing, food production and general engineering, offering a varied workload and long-term job security.

The Role

• Operating XYZ Proturn and conventional turning machines
• Manufacturing one-off and small batch components
• Producing parts from engineering drawings, sketches and customer samples
• Carrying out repair and refurbishment work
• Working to tight tolerances and customer deadlines
• Supporting breakdown and urgent repair requirements when required
• Working across a variety of light to medium engineering projects

What We’re Looking For

• You must have the legal right to work in the UK
• Time-served engineer or equivalent machining experience
• Strong background in both XYZ Proturn and conventional turning
• Previous experience within a jobbing shop environment
• Ability to manufacture components from drawings, sketches and samples
• Experience carrying out repair and breakdown work
• Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
